Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This is from an oldie, but one I am reading at the moment:
"You know," said Arthur, "it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young."
"Why, what did she tell you?"
"I don't know, I didn't listen."

Saw the movie but I never read the book. I have been told it is funny.. I didn't really like the movie though.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, I've done this activity but in the comments.
ReplyDeleteI knew what you were reading as soon as I saw Vogon. You really know where your towel is!
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is here.
LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have read HHGTG so many times I knew exactly what section you opened to. Classic, awesome book. I can't wait till I introduce it to my sons.
"The sun warms our projectile, which absorbs its rays; but it does not warm the vacuum in which we are floating at this moment. Where there is no air, there is no more heat than diffused light; and the same with darkness; it is cold where the sun's rays do not strike direct. This temperature is only the temperature produced by the radiation of the stars; that is to say, what the terrestrial globe would undergo if the sun disappeared one day." Page(?) FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON by Jules Verne. Fun meme!
ReplyDeleteVery good choice, Maurice...that one is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, all. :-)
